Checksheet

A 'Check List' is at the heart of each and every claim that is made. It will show the claim in order, eg for a squares claim will have each 'square' listed along with the station worked and the date of that contact. If the claim was for 'countries', then the lists would have countries in alphabetical order. Part of a form is shown at the bottom of this page.

Advice

Squares/Countries

These MUST be listed in order! An 'extra' out of order is acceptable, but should not be the norm.

Station

Please make sure that this relates to the card, it is very easy to make typographical errors when transferring details.

Date

Most RSGB Awards require a date eg. 50MHz awards did not start until the band was generally released. Please note an undated contact IS NOT admissable.

The Form

Pre-printed forms are available for use, but you may like to generate your own. A spread sheet is a useful tool for compiling a claim checklist, it is then possible to format it to look like the supplied form.
If you are ultimately intending to submit claims for ARRL VUCC awards then you should submit both an RSGB form and an ARRL checksheet - the contacts can be checked and verified for both. Unfortunately the ARRL sheet does not have space for dates (they're not used)

'Ticks'

Your claim will be checked and the checklist will indicate the status of each entry. It will show the current state of your claim and will be signed by the Award Manager. This is the only record of your contacts and it is your responsibilty to keep it safe. You will need to send it with your next up-date claim. If you loose it then all the cards will have to be re-submitted.

New Entries

On subsequent claims it is a good idea to 'highlight' the new entries. On the example above they have been 'double-spaced' and coloured. This makes the job of the Award Manager much easier, and if it is a large claim then he will be well pleased!

Notes

The Award Manager keeps on file all new claims and may be able to accept claims as text files, but please discuss first.
All claimants will be issued with a 'print-out' of their claim status. It is still your responsibilty to keep it safe!
