| International Lighthouse and Lightship Weekend |  |

More than 380 lighthouses in more than 51 countries from Argentina to Wales will be on the air for the 2008 International Lighthouse/Lightship Weekend (ILLW) organised by the Ayr Amateur Radio Group. The event, takes place Saturday, 16 August from 0001UTC until Sunday 17 August 2359UTC. While not a contest, the event is more of a QSO Party and amateur radio demonstration. Participating lighthouse/lightship stations do not have to be inside the structure or on the vessel itself; a Field Day-type setup at or adjacent to the light is sufficient. |
