Hilberling production ceases
Production of the Hilberling PT-8000 HF and VHF transceiver has been stopped due to ever changing requirements placed on the German designed transceiver by the European Union.

Delfi D Oh 64 transponder activated
The 435 to 145MHz linear transponder onboard the Delfi D Oh 64 satellite has been activated. It was built at the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands and, since it was launched in April, it has been collecting educational research data for use by the university students with the assistance of radio amateurs around the world.

Amateurs requested to listen for satellite
Amateurs have been asked to assist with capturing the telemetry of the Cal Poly CP4 satellite which has been showing signs of unpredictable behaviour. A more complete picture of the satellite's health could be drawn if amateurs report what they hear.

International Lighthouse and Lightship Weekend
More than 380 lighthouses in more than 51 countries will be on the air for the 2008 International Lighthouse/Lightship Weekend on 16 and 17 August. It’s not a contest, more of a chance to contact as many stations as you can and show the public how amateur radio works.
